SPRING 2017

Here are descriptions of where Mel will be conducting workshops in the spring of 2017.  For specific info. including class availability, class description, registration, tuition, etc., please contact the workshop organizer listed on the ' 17 Contact Info page.

Mel will once again be teaching in New York, New York! He is looking forward to conducting an indoor workshop for the New York Open Center in Manhattan at the end of April. Founded in 1984, the Open Center is a unique place offering a wide variety of educational programs ranging from holistic health, self-development, and yoga & meditation to photography, music, and arts & creativity. With more than 300 programs, the Open Center is a wonderful place where people can enrich their lives. This workshop is scheduled on a Sunday, which makes it convenient for those who work during the week. This popular workshop tends to fill up quickly so our suggestion is to register early!

Mel continues his spring schedule with a three-day workshop in Guilford, Connecticut in May.  The Suzanne Siegel Studio will be hosting this outdoor on location workshop.  Suzanne Siegel is an artist and organizes workshops too. Guilford is a quaint, historic town with a working harbor and waterfront, beaches, marinas, sanctuaries, boatyards, and farms all of which make for ideal painting locations.  In case of inclement weather, Suzanne's studio provides great painting space with its over 1100 square feet and its natural light. In addition to the beautiful landscapes in Guilford, there are many museums, galleries, antique shops, and local fresh markets to visit. This workshop will take place on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which is perfect for those who don't have the time for a week-long workshop.  Contact Suzanne for more information and to register.

Early June brings Mel to Allentown, Pennsylvania for a return visit!  This three-day indoor workshop is being hosted by Barbra Barker of bSquared Workshops.  In addition to being an artist herself, Barbra organizes art workshops conducted by internationally known artists throughout the year. This workshop will take place on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday... ideal for those whose schedules won't allow for longer workshops.  We'll be painting landscapes and people in landscapes.  Be sure to bring sketches and/or photos for reference.  Learn a lot and have fun at the same time! Contact Barbra to register... don't wait on this one!
