FALL 2015

Here are descriptions of where Mel will be conducting workshops in the fall of 2015. For specific info. including class availability, class description, registration, tuition, etc., please contact the individual workshop organizers listed on our '15 Contact Info page.

The fall season begins in Island Heights, New Jersey in September. Sponsored by the Ocean County Artists' Guild, this three-day, indoor workshop is always enjoyable for all who attend.  The town of Island Heights is situated in the middle of a federally registered historic district between Barnegat Bay and the Toms River. The Island Heights Historical District has more than 375 Victorian era structures. The renovated art facility is part of a beautiful 100-year old historic Victorian house originally built in 1880. The Guild is located on a quiet street along the Toms River. Take a leisurely stroll along the picturesque waterfront and up and down the streets to see the beautiful Victorian architecture.  Mel always looks forward to teaching in Island Heights.  Contact the Ocean County Artists' Guild to register!

Mel makes a return visit to Fairfield, New Jersey in the beginning of October where he will be conducting a one-day workshop for Art@1275 Studio & Gallery. Located in Essex County, Art@1275 is ideal for an indoor workshop with its large, open studio. With ample wall space, the gallery has group shows as well as solo exhibitions. They have an open studio program and offer various art excursions to New York City. For those who are busy working during the week, this one-day class being held on a Saturday is ideal.  Beginners to advanced painters are welcome to join. Be sure to sign up soon!

Mel concludes his 2015 workshop schedule in San Diego, California in October where he will be conducting a four-day, outdoor on location class for the San Diego Watercolor Society. San Diego, located in Southern California, is known for its beauty and ideal climate.  There is abundant scenery including gardens and historic  buildings with their unique archi-tecture. The terrain varies from gentle foothills to mountains to miles and miles of pristine beaches. Well-known Balboa Park is home to 15 museums, numerous art galleries, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. The combination of sunny, comfortable days with temperatures in the mid-70s and great painting subjects make San Diego a perfect place for a watercolor workshop!  Don't wait to register!
